Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you provide us when you:

The personal information you provide us when you access and/or use the Web site, or receive e-mail communications, is used to identify who you are and to provide you with information you requested to receive about Mary Kay® products, promotions, Web site features, and information about upcoming events. We also may use this information to administer your participation in our contests, sweepstakes, surveys or other promotions offered through the Web site. Any credit card and shipping address information you provide is used solely to process any orders you place for Mary Kay® products offered through the Web site. Survey and feedback information you provide may be retained to better address your needs such as to understand your product preferences and to determine how Mary Kay® products and Web site can be improved.
Disclosure of Personal Information: Except as expressly set out in this Privacy Statement, we will not sell, transfer or otherwise disclose any of your personal information to any third party without your knowledge and consent.
We must provide your personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid enquiry or order, or to an investigative body in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law, or as otherwise required by law. Information Security

We will maintain the strict confidentiality of all personal information collected, and will only disclose such information to employees, affiliates and third party contractors of Mary Kay Cosmetics Ltd who require such information for the purposes set out above. For more than 50 years, Mary Kay and its affiliates (“Mary Kay”, “Company”, “we, “us”, “our”) have provided unlimited opportunities to Independent Beauty Consultants around the world. Trust is one of the foundations on which the Company was built. It is in this spirit of trust and our Golden Rule philosophy that we are committed to protecting the personal information we collect about you.
This Privacy Policy was created specifically with you in mind. It describes the information we collect from our Independent Beauty Consultants, how that information is used, disclosed and protected, and the choices you have regarding your information.
We are committed to working with you to obtain a fair resolution of any privacy complaints or concerns you may have. We cooperate with local data protection authorities if they consider that a privacy issue has occurred.
Information we collect
To provide you with up-to-date product and business information to promote the effectiveness of your Mary Kay business, we may collect the following information from or about you:
- Name;
- Postal address;
- Email address;
- Username and password;
- Telephone number or mobile number;
- Birthdate;
- Age;
- Government identification number;
- Independent Beauty Consultant Number;
- Name of the person who recruited you, the Independent Sales Director, the National Independent Sales Director;
- Names of people you recruited;
- Product order history;
- Payment information
- Commission history;
- Customer service call information;
- Other information that is necessary to accomplish the purposes outlined below, which we collect from you directly, or, with your consent, from other Independent Beauty Consultants or consumers.
How we use this information
As a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, you do business for your own benefit, but not alone. We generally use the information we collect from and about you to provide the products and services you and your customers request from us and to effectively promote the Mary Kay business opportunity.
Your information is specifically used to:
- Submit orders, product samples, special opportunities, products and information;
- Inform you about products, services, promotions and benefits offered by or through Mary Kay;
- Create new products and services;
- Enroll you in contests, programs, promotions or offers you request;
- Where applicable, facilitate the lease of a Mary Kay vehicle and other rewards and recognition programs ;
- Create and manage your accounts;
- Process payment for wholesale purchases or other services;
- Provide services to help you better serve customers;
- Protect you from possible fraudulent transactions or identify such transactions;
- Send you surveys to assess your satisfaction with Mary Kay, our products, and your experience as an Independent Beauty Consultant ;
- Create and provide product information, advertisements and marketing tools based on your professional milestones
- Analyze the use of our products, services and Mary Kay websites (“Websites”);
- Understand how you are using our Websites;
- Understand how you are using the business tools offered by Mary Kay, as well as the Websites and other electronic business tools;
- Determine the effectiveness of our advertisements and promotions;
- Enforce our Terms and Conditions and to manage our relationship with you;
- Comply with the Independent Beauty Consultant Agreement, Independent Sales Director Agreement, and Independent National Sales Director Agreement, as applicable;
- Calculate, process and send commission payments, prices and prizes;
- Send general correspondence related to your contracts or relationship with Mary Kay;
- Comply with the contractual relationship we have established with you and other Independent Beauty Consultants, Independent Sales Directors and Independent National Sales Directors;
- Manage our Websites and services so we can continue to offer you unlimited opportunities as you promote your Mary Kay business;
- Comply with applicable government or regulatory requirements;
- Any other purpose authorized by law, disclosed to you at the moment your personal information is collected, or with you consent.
Cookies and other technologies
We use “cookies” and other technologies to collect information about you when you visit our Websites, use our services, or view online advertisements or other information contained on Mary Kay InTouch® or marykay.ca. We may also use these techniques to make online navigation easier. The following are examples of information we may collect using these technologies:

- The electronic pages you view
- The links you access
- Mary Kay emails you open or send to others
- Mary Kay offers or links to which you connect via email
- The electronic sites that direct you to our site or that you visited when you left our Websites

Your Choices and Rights Regarding Your Information
As an Independent Beauty Consultant, we need to use your information to further our contractual relationship with you and others, and to provide you with the most up-to-date information so you can be successful in running your own independent Mary Kay business. We provide access and choices regarding your information in accordance with applicable laws.
Promotional Communications
We send you the promotional messages, including by email and SMS, that you have opted to receive. Generally, you agree to receive these communications when you register as an Independent Beauty Consultant and when you connect with the online community available to Independent Beauty Consultants, Independent Sales Directors and Independent National Sales Directors.
You can stop receiving promotional messages from Mary Kay at any time by:
- following the opt out or unsubscribe instructions provided in any such message you receive from us;
- clicking here to let us know which materials you no longer wish to receive; or
- contacting us as set forth in the section above “Contact Us”.
However, it may be necessary to continue to submit certain non-promotional information electronically under your Independent Beauty Consultant Agreement and relationship with the Company.
Postal Mail
In connection with your status as an Independent Beauty Consultant, we may send you by post offers, product information and marketing tools that we believe would be of interest to you. While some materials are required to be mailed to you regarding your Independent Beauty Consultant status, you may stop receiving certain promotional correspondence from Mary Kay. Please contact Customer Service to update your preferences.
PLEASE NOTE : If you choose to stop receiving promotional messages from us, we will comply with your request to the extent we are able to do so and continue to facilitate our agreements with you regarding your Independent Beauty Consultant status. We will continue to send you transactional and service-related communications. We may need to retain the information we have obtained about you for our records, contractual requirements, analytics or for other reasons, to the extent required and/or permitted by law.
Your Rights
Under certain circumstances, and subject to applicable laws, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access: You may have the right to access the personal information that we have collected;
- Rectification: You have the right to correct your personal information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Withdrawal of consent: You may withdraw your consent to the use or disclosure of your personal information we have collected.
For more information or to exercise your rights regarding your personal information, please contact us as set forth in the section below “Contact Us”. In addition, most Mary Kay programs offer access to view or update personal information online, including Mary Kay InTouch® and personal websites.
Information Sharing
Generally speaking, we do not disclose personal information to third parties outside of Mary Kay. Subject to applicable laws, however, we will share your personal information to accomplish the purposes identified above:
- With prospective clients who have contacted the Company requesting that we connect them with an Independent Beauty Consultant;
- With other Independent Beauty Consultants to enable contractual responsibilities under the Independent Beauty Consultant Agreement;
- With the person who recruited you, the Independent Sales Director(s) and the Independent National Sales Director(s), for purposes of fulfilling our agreements with you and them;
- With third party service providers:
- To fulfill orders for products and services and respond to your questions,
- To manage our Websites and send our emails and messages to mobile phones,
- To mail product samples, communicate with contest winners, manage payments, or take other actions on our behalf;
- To analyze data, sometimes combined with other sources, to send communications better tailored to you, or if you request, to your customers;
- To conduct research studies and analyze data to improve our products, services and Websites;
- To provide employee recognition and sales incentive services;
- To provide you with special offers from retailers, exclusively available to Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants;
- To carry out other services that we request.
- With leasing companies to facilitate the lease of a Mary Kay vehicle, where applicable;
- Within the Mary Kay Independent Sales Force:
- For recognition and awards purposes;
- To facilitate the work of mentors and relate to the independent sales force community.
- To provide a world-class Golden Rule Service around the world, we may disclose personal information to other Mary Kay entities in a protected environment;
- When authorized or required by law or public authorities.
We may share aggregated information that does not identify you for general business analysis purposes. For example, we may disclose the number of visitors to Mary Kay Websites or services.
Information Transfer
We may transfer personal information to Mary Kay databases in regions other than where it was provided. While such information is outside of your region, it is subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is held, and may be subject to disclosure to the governments, courts or law enforcement or regulatory agencies of such other jurisdictions pursuant to local laws.
Our Global Privacy Program requires the same level of security and protection of personal information across geographies, with procedures and controls in place to help us achieve this. The data may be transferred to the authorized third parties listed above. These authorized third parties are required to protect and manage personal information to the same high standards as Mary Kay, and may not use the information for any purpose other than the services Mary Kay has requested.
Information Security
Mary Kay protects personal information under the Company's control using standard industry standards and measures to prevent unauthorized access, use, and disclosure, loss or any other breach. However, information transmitted on the Internet and/or stored on systems attached to the Internet is not 100% secure, and no security can provide absolute protection. As a result, we do not ensure, warrant or guarantee the security or integrity of such information.
- We limit access to personal information to those who require it to perform their duties.
- We keep personal information only for as long as is necessary for us to fulfil the relevant purposes specified in this Privacy Policy and to comply with our legal obligations.
- When we provide your personal information to authorized third parties, we require those companies to protect the information and to not use the information for any other purpose.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We will post changes to this Privacy Policy and update the effective date when this Policy is updated. Subject to applicable laws, we will notify you changes by sending an e-mail to the e-mail address you most recently provided us.

Online IBC Shop Privacy Policy

Mary Kay is proud to support the efforts of Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants through programs such as the Independent Beauty Consultant My Shop (“IBC Shop” or “Shop”), that allow Independent Beauty Consultants to connect with their customers through online tools that provide convenient round the clock access to information about Mary Kay® products and services offered by the Independent Beauty Consultant.
This IBC Shop Privacy Policy describes the information that your Independent Beauty Consultant collects about you through her Shop. It details how they use that information and the choices you can make about how this information is used.
When you provide your information to your Independent Beauty Consultant through her Shop, your information is placed in a secure location by Mary Kay on behalf of your Independent Beauty Consultant. Your information will be shared with Mary Kay but will not be shared with others without your permission except as described in Mary Kay’s privacy policies.
Information Collected on the IBC Shop
Information you provide to your Independent Beauty Consultant through her Shop may include:
- Name, email address, postal address
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Skin type, skin tone and information on skin care and makeup preferences
- Other information about you, such as gender or product use preferences and/or behaviors
- Demographic information
- Preferences for future communications
While on the Independent Beauty Consultant’s Shop, cookies and other technologies are used to capture information about you and your use of the site. The following are examples of information that may be collected with these technologies:
- Your browser type and operating system
- Web pages you view on this site
- Links you click
- IP address
- Site you visited before and after coming to our site
- Offers or links you connect to from the site
- Information about your visits to or from the IBC Shop
- Your product selections and preferences
- “Shopping Bag” information

How This Information is Used
Your Independent Beauty Consultant uses the information you provide through her Shop for the following purposes:
- Providing you with first-class service
- Providing information about new products and promotions that may be of interest to you
- Communicating with you about product preferences, purchases, payments and deliveries
- Facilitating the sale of products to you
- Managing product orders and delivery
- Understanding your product preferences and sending you information or product samples
- Sharing information with you about special offers, promotions or contests
- Scheduling appointments or providing information about hosting events
Mary Kay uses the information you provide through an IBC Shop for the following purposes:
- Facilitating the processing of payments for purchases or other services for or on behalf of your Independent Beauty Consultant
- Protecting against or identifying possible fraudulent transactions
- Supporting the Independent Beauty Consultant in identifying your preferences
- Analyzing the use of Mary Kay products, services, websites and applications s
- Understanding how you arrived at the IBC Shop and how you use the site so that we can make it better for you and your Independent Beauty Consultant
- Determining the effectiveness of the IBC Shop
- Enforcing the IBC Shop Terms of Use and otherwise managing and securing the site
- Asking you if you wish to participate in market research, and then contacting you if you give us permission
- Facilitating communication or information you have requested from your Independent Beauty Consultant or Mary Kay
The information you provide will be used solely for the purposes for which it was collected. Your information will only be used for another purpose if that other purpose is compatible with the original purpose or we obtain your separate consent to use your information for any additional purposes at that time.
Your Choices and How to Access Your Information
When you use the IBC Shop, you are providing your information to the Independent Beauty Consultant. Mary Kay will also have access to your information and process it for the purpose of providing services to you and your Independent Beauty Consultant and for our own limited purposes, as described in the “How This Information Is Used” section above. However, rest assured that we treat your information provided through the IBC Shop in accordance with the standards set forth in this policy as well as our Consumer Privacy Policy and our Global Privacy Statement. Please refer to those privacy policies for further information.
Generally, individuals who provide information through the IBC Shop can follow the opt out or unsubscribe instructions provided in any messages, log into their account and update the communication preferences in the account settings, or contact Mary Kay directly to request to stop future communications directly from Mary Kay in connection with the IBC Shop. You will need to contact your Independent Beauty Consultant directly in order to request that your Independent Beauty Consultant not forward or otherwise send information to you that is not sent directly by Mary Kay through the IBC Shop program.
You can review, correct or update the personal contact information you provide through the IBC Shop by logging into your account and managing your account preferences. You also have legal rights; these are described in the "Data Subject Rights" section. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
How we use Cookies, Pixels and other Technologies: Mary Kay uses cookies and various technologies to provide you a richer and more personalized consumer experience. These technologies collect and store personal data about you and your online behavior.
Opt-Out: Our use of online tracking technologies may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under applicable law. Visitors to IBC Shop sites can opt out of being tracked by these third parties and manage their preferences by clicking “Do Not sell or Share My Personal Information” link at the bottom of our website.
Cookies: A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a website that uses the cookie to store information about your use of the website. Cookies help us to operate our sites, monitor how our sites are used, improve your browsing experience, personalize your online experience and deliver targeted advertisements by remembering you and your preferences. For example, when you register for an account on our sites, we may store a unique code in a cookie on your computer. The next time you come back to the site from that computer, our servers use the cookie to recognize you. We can then use the information you provided when you registered combined with your activities on our sites to provide you a better website experience.
Pixels/Web Beacons: Pixels, also known as web beacons, are small bits of code embedded on websites, advertisements, and in emails. Mary Kay may use web beacons to deliver or communicate with cookies, to count users who have visited a web page, and to understand usage patterns. We also may include web beacons in emails to learn if messages have been opened, acted on, or forwarded. We use the data collected from web beacons to track user behavior and gather data on how users interact with our sites, advertisements, and emails for analytics and marketing purposes.
Third Party Cookies and Pixels: Mary Kay may use third party cookies and pixels from partners to enhance your browsing experience, provide personalized content, provide us with analytics about our ads and sites, and to manage and display advertisements. These third parties may collect data about your online activities over time and across different websites. Use of this information by third parties is subject to their respective privacy policies.
Other Technologies: Examples of other technologies we may use to provide better service to you are as follows:
- Web Session Variables: Information that is passed from one web URL to another as you browse.
- Browser plug-ins/add-ons: Additional web components that may need to be installed to enable certain web features on our sites. You have the option not to install these components.
Third-Party Advertising: We may allow third parties, including business partners, to display advertising on our sites. Some of these companies may place a cookie on your computer to recognize your device each time they send you an online advertisement. This enables them to understand where you, or others who are using your device, see their advertisement and deliver ads that they believe are of interest to you. Third Party Service Providers
Your Independent Beauty Consultant may utilize services offered by Mary Kay and third-party service providers to provide you with efficient, high quality service. When utilizing services of Mary Kay or third-party service providers, the Independent Beauty Consultant and/or Mary Kay may need to share your personal information with them, but only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Please note that these service providers are given only the personal information they need to perform their respective services, that they are required to protect your information, and that they may not use it for any other purpose.
For example, service providers may be utilized to:
- Fulfill your product and service requests
- Host sites and deliver email and mobile messages
- Mail product samples, contact contest winners, manage payments or take other actions on behalf of your Independent Beauty Consultant
- Analyze data, sometimes combined with other sources, to send more targeted communications to you
- Conduct research and analyze data to improve the products, services and sites made available to you
- Facilitate payment or order processing
Information Security
We are committed to keeping personal information secure. We have appropriate technical, administrative and physical procedures in place to protect personal information from loss, misuse or alteration.
We limit access to personal information to those who have a business need to know such information.
When we provide your personal information to third party service providers we require those companies to protect the information and not use the information for any other purpose.
When we collect or transmit sensitive information such as a credit card number, we use industry standard methods to protect that information.
Information Transfer
Your personal information may be transferred to, stored and/or processed in Mary Kay databases, including those of other Mary Kay group companies in a country other than the one in which it was provided. When we do so, we transfer the information in compliance with applicable data protection laws. Our global privacy program requires the same high level of security and protection of personal information in all geographies with procedures and contracts in place to help ensure this is so.
We take steps to protect personal information no matter what country it is stored in or transferred to.
We adhere to applicable country data privacy laws, as well as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and the UK Extension to the EU-US DPF as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Your personal data may be transferred to a vendor or business partner to provide services for the Independent Beauty Consultant such as targeted email communications, mailing information or samples. These vendors and business partners are required to protect and manage the personal information to the same high standards Mary Kay does, and they cannot use the information for purposes other than to provide the services Mary Kay or your Independent Beauty Consultant have requested. Data Subject Rights
You may have certain legal rights, known as “data subject rights,” which may be exercised subject to certain limitations and/or restrictions. These rights include: (i) the right to access or correct your personal information, (ii) request rectification of any incomplete or inaccurate personal information, (iii) request deletion of your personal data; (iv) the right to opt out of the sale of your personal data; and (v) the right to ask for a copy of your personal information to be provided to you, or to a third party, in a digital format. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the contact details provided in this Privacy Policy. We do not discriminate against individuals who exercise any of their rights described in our privacy policies.
There is no charge for exercising the rights outlined in our privacy policies. However, if your request is unfounded, repetitive, excessive, or involves unnecessary costs, we may charge a reasonable fee. Alternatively, we reserve the right not to process your request in these circumstances. To confirm your identity, if you wish to access your personal data, or if you wish to exercise any of your rights, we may need to ask you for specific information so that we can be sure that your personal data is not disclosed to unauthorized persons.
Information for Visitors from California: Mary Kay complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”). If you are a California consumer, you have the right to request access to the personal information we have collected about you in the last 12 months. You may make requests by contacting us as described below. Subject to certain exceptions under the law, you have the right to access, request a copy, or request that we delete or correct any personal information we have collected from you. We will not discriminate against you in product quality, pricing, goods or services if you choose to exercise your rights under the CCPA.
Data Retention
Your personal information will be retained by Mary Kay only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. This includes, without limitation, satisfying any legal, accounting, and reporting requirements. The appropriate retention period will depend on applicable legal requirements, the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process it, and whether those purposes can be achieved through other means.
