MARY KAY LAUNCHES 13TH ANNUAL TEAM UP FOR WOMEN!® FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE

Mississauga, ON, March 01, 2016

Mary Kay Cosmetics Ltd. is excited to announce the 2016 launch of the Team Up for Women!® Fundraising Challenge. Now in its 13th consecutive year, the Challenge encourages women from all across Canada to band together to raise awareness and funds for the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation.

Led by a passionate Mary Kay Independent Sales Force, the Team Up for Women!® Fundraising Challenge is a culmination of car washes, local business partnerships, bake sales, and donations through product purchases – both through the generosity of Mary Kay customers, and through the hard work of Independent Beauty Consultants.

"We've been participating in this wonderful challenge for over a decade. What a fabulous way to create awareness in our communities about our amazing Founder, Mary Kay Ash, and her Foundation. Her vision for making a difference is as powerful today as it was in its inception!" says Mary Kay Independent Sales Director Christine Ransom of Barrie, ON, who led the top fundraising unit to raise almost $3,000 during last year's challenge.

In 2015 alone, Team Up for Women!® raised over $40,000 for the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, assisting women impacted by cancer through the Look Good Feel Better® program, and funding programs that help women and their children who are the victims of domestic violence. Mary Kay Ash was a strong advocate for these causes, and the Team Up for Women!® Fundraising Challenge is a reflection of her respected legacy.

"On behalf of the clients, staff and volunteers, I would like to extend our thank you for choosing Phoenix House for your generous grant of $10,000 towards the building of an interactive playground. In a one-year period over 300 children that have been impacted by family violence will access our services," says Natasha Carvalho of Phoenix Safe House in Medicine Hat, AB. "One of our long terms goals is to obtain an updated child's playground and interactive stations to promote healing and growth. We are excited that [the Foundation] has brought us one step closer to realizing this dream."

The 2016 Team Up for Women!® Fundraising Challenge runs from March 1st to May 12th, 2016. Those interested in donating can contact their Independent Beauty Consultant or visit CanadaHelps.
