2019 Shelter Grant Program Opens Today
Falling in love is one of the best feelings in the world: exhilarating, exciting, and all-encompassing. As human beings, it’s one of our greatest needs – to love and be loved. For those women and children rebuilding their lives after escaping domestic violence, love often shows itself in the comfort of caring and dedicated shelter workers who offer much-needed respite.
Since its inception in 2004, more than $1.4 Million has been donated to shelters and programs addressing domestic violence. This year’s program will see 13 Shelter Grants of $8,500 awarded to shelters and outreach centres across Canada.

Throughout her life, Mary Kay Ash showed others how to live, and how to give. She gave hope to women who lacked opportunity and self-esteem, and she gave financial support to the causes she believed in. Today, we honour her legacy of love through The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, which was founded in Canada in 2001.
Through its grant program and awareness initiatives, the Foundation supports women living with the appearance-related side effects of cancer through Look Good Feel Better, and by contributing to women's domestic violence shelters and supporting community outreach programs.
Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded almost $1 million to help women going through cancer treatment throughout Canada.

Each year, the Shelter Grant program runs from August to October. Applications are reviewed and recommended by the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation Committee. After reviewing these recommendations, the Executive Committee selects final grant recipients.
